May Restaurant of the Month: Tonino’s

by 2summers | May 18, 2018 | Food and Drink, Johannesburg, Restaurant of the Month

Tonino’s has been on my hit list forever. Tonino’s: Is it a sports pub? A blues venue? A casino? A Portuguese restaurant? A pizza take-away? Yes. All of that. I first noticed Tonino’s a few years ago during a visit to the fabulous Kalahari Books,...

April Restaurant of the Month: The Bagel Zone

by 2summers | Apr 24, 2018 | Food and Drink, Johannesburg, Restaurant of the Month

by 2summers | Jan 22, 2018 | Food and Drink, Johannesburg, Melville and Surrounds, Restaurant of the Month

Since I finished my #Gauteng52 series in 2017, many people have asked what my 2018 campaign will to be. I actually wasn’t planning to do anything. But upon further reflection it might be nice to do a couple of shorter projects. Hence, I bring you the 2018...

Standing in the tea-colored water in the Buffelsja Standing in the tea-colored water in the Buffelsjags River in Suurbraak, Western Cape. The water tastes totally normal — better than average, in fact — but is colored this way because of tannins. (Need to do more research on this.) Anyway this is a lovely little hamlet - more photos to come soon. 📸 @thethinking_hand #southafrica
