After many years of yearning, I finally visited the Big Pineapple in Bathurst, Eastern Cape, last month. It was well worth the wait.

One year later than planned, I finally made it to Bathurst -- one of the small South African towns I've been most excited to visit.

For the past six years, I've been yearning to return to Bethulie and the Royal Hotel. I finally got the chance last month.
