I finally got the corona. I figured I should let you all know, after I bragged last week about not getting it.

Thorsten has been diagnosed with covid for the second time -- presumably omicron. Fortunately we have a nice house to isolate in together.

Thorsten and I went to Mustardbox 713 to try Korean corn dogs for the first time. It was a culinary awakening for us both.

Last Thursday, South African scientists discovered the Omicron variant. By Friday morning, our lives were turned upside-down.

Thorsten and I spent two days at the De Hoop Nature reserve, near Cape Agulhas in the Western Cape. It was my second visit to De Hoop.

I visited the Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point in Africa, for the first time. But I was lazy and missed a lot of the attractions.

I've eaten a couple of meals at Syrian Rose, a new restaurant in Fordsburg. It's one of the best places in the city to eat outside.

I visited Arniston for two days and was blown away by the town's history, culture, and astonishing beauty.

I did a lot of wine tasting at the Noble Vice fest in Stellenbosch. I tried to do it intelligently...Did I succeed?

Thorsten and I journeyed to Fourways for dinner at Roasty's Roadhouse, which opened about a year ago. Roasty's was delightful.

I hosted a jacaranda walk through Rosebank, together with the Johannesburg in Your Pocket Guide and the Redisson Red Hotel.

Thorsten and I bought bagels from Bird's Bagels in Blairgowrie for breakfast on Sunday. The bagels were fantastic.
