Four Days in Rhode Island, America’s Smallest State

by 2summers | May 4, 2023 | Arts and Culture, Food and Drink, Museums and Buildings, Parks/Nature Reserves, USA

Quirky South Africa, Part 3: The Garden Route

by 2summers | Mar 28, 2023 | Eastern Cape, Lodging, Parks/Nature Reserves, Western Cape

Read Quirky South Africa Part 1, about padstals, and Quirky South Africa Part 2, about Bethulie and the Gariep Dam. I was talking to some South African friends about my visit to the Garden Route recently, and one of them said: “Maybe this is a dumb question. But...

I somehow never knew until yesterday that Frederic I somehow never knew until yesterday that Frederick County, right next to Carroll County (where I’m from), has three historic covered bridges. One of them, the Utica Mills Bridge, was originally built around 1843, but got partially destroyed in a flood and moved/rebuilt in its current location around 1891. The bridge didn’t look very exciting on its own so @tenneymason and I staged a photoshoot with Dad’s Jeep, Hella Yella. #maryland #coveredbridge
